The last two days I have also had the privilege to enjoy a couple of sweaty hours of skateboarding with my friends  and I made a huge leap forward although I haven´t been skating for months! Yesterday, we had an awesome and inventive evening/night with Me and Krille skating a polejam(riding on a iron pole that is stuck in to the ground in 45 degree, see picture) while our buddies were holding a phone to light the spot up since it was completely dark and our skatepark has not any light whatsoever. The best thing about skating is that it sets your mind, your body and soul completely free and you are there in the moment and nowhere else, while you are having the best time of your life! A plus is that you get a freakin good exercise on the go.

I did not manage to get “The photo” because my flash batteries died but i still wanted to share this photo of my buddy Kristian Dahlqvist to show you the idea I had, which was to mix the background light of the sky and the streetlight with a cool flash light on the main subject which in this case was Kristian, The Awesome Skater!!! I will charge my batteries and be ready for next time to shoot some great skate pictures which I honestly and weirdly enough do not have any of, in my opinion. I skateboard a lot but rarely shoot it but I’ve been wanting to shoot great and serious pictures of skateboarding for soooo long so the time is up! And just a short thing: When i googled myself yesterday i found this text . It´s only in Swedish but that is the text i wrote on the question “Why do you Skateboard?”. With that text I managed to win a skateboard and it felt great so for you skaters out there, you should check it out and read what my thoughts about skateboard was and still is. So proud of me

I have also added my email on the “About” page and also in the main menu at the homepage so all of you who have questions or things to say that is not ideal for the comment box can now email me instead. How awesome is that?! Pretty neat I would say, no but seriously I hope I get to see more and more people read and learn from me, or at least enjoying reading and watching what I am doing. Now, I was a tiny bit too late in my opinion because I could have got more variety on my final pictures with the light, colors and all that good stuff. But, I managed to arrive at the perfect time, just when the sun is going down behind the trees and creates this soft and nice light at it´s opposite side which was the side I shooted at. So if you didn´t understand a word there I can simply say that I had the sun behind me when i shot these pictures, because if I would have had the sun in front of me, the light and colors would have been a lot different.

So that is also a thing to notice that before I even got on my moped to go shooting, I was looking where the sun went down and knew before how I was able to place myself in order to get the images that I wanted. There is not a big window of time to shoot these types of pictures since the sun goes down very quickly(at least here in the North). You have probably seen thousands and thousands of pictures just like these but since I have never taken any pictures like these myself I thought i gave it a try because no matter what, these pictures are stunning and really fun to shoot.

There is nice and quite but you have the time pressure on you and I also is making good use of my graduated filter which I have owned for quite a while but not making any use of since now and it is amazing how great it is. This should be a must in every big enthusiast, semi-pro and pro’s camera bag and it´s worth every penny you spend on it if you like to shoot a lot of these types of things where either some big parts of the picture is high contrasted to the other, for instance a really bright sky against a shadowed foreground.

A thing I also noticed when I was editing the pictures was that this is at the exact same location and almost the exact things in them but they are totally different if you think about it.

The left image is very calm with it´s smooth lighting and just a few big rocks with some grass to the right, but the main thing is still the graduated and smooth lighting and colors that brings the calm feeling(this is all personal views and is not to be considered as truth, a rule or any sort of standard. This is only how I experience the pictures).

The Right image on the other half has a more dramatic sky with higher contrast and has more of all and more details. There is a lot of small rocks along with the bigger rocks. There is grass on both sides in different distances and the water as a much smaller role in this picture than the left. This is still a pretty calm picture but it has a lot more action and movement. Neither of these is better than the other, just a lot different though pretty much the same. A fun thing to note and to think about as a photographer. How do you want to express and communicate with your pictures? And how can you use knowledge and techniques to achieve those goals? I did not make these pictures different by choice at the spot, but afterwards in the editing process I discovered this and made these two different images. Hopefully at least a couple of very interesting readers will bare through all these text but I thought that this was something you can make use of if this is pretty new to you.

While riding my moped as fast as it could bare me, I saw a mystic shift in the sky. Suddenly a humongous(huge+enormous) thin layer of a misty cloud came over the whole sky and created a nice light. When i stepped down my feet to the sand at the lake i saw that this mist was really low and made some strange things along with the water and the environment i was in. I wished I had been there 15-30 minutes earlier so i could have been prepared for this and also traveled even further to get really nice pictures of big rocks that was far away along the shore. I really enjoyed the silence and the peaceful atmosphere that was all around me, only sound of nature and wind in the early morning. That was a truly magic morning so I have decided to travel back there around 7 tomorrow and try to catch some more of that magic!

Also today I got some really nice experience when I took a short photo walk in the park, just outside of my apartment. While shooting a flower a bee came from nowhere and took a quick sniff at the flower i was just shooting and then flew away. Okay, so that may not have been so special but to me it felt like he was there, showing off and telling me that: “Hey, look at my gorgeous body. You better hurry if you wanna have it on picture forever for this opportunity will not come around again!” And it was really funny in my mind so that brightened up my peaceful morning walk even more.

I will also take a moment to thank everyone that is supporting me and telling me that I am a great and creative artist and I hope I can return the favor by giving you more and more of my creativity which I am insanely in Love with. I Love being creative and I love to share it so I hope you enjoy reading my words and watching my pictures. This is all to you, my colors of my Life!

I will make entries here more often, but only when I have something worth writing of course so you won´t have to read a bunch of nonsense. I am at this moment making a big change in my apartment in the way of reshuffing and a bit of home styling since my father moved in to his wonderful fiancee so now I´m The Boss! I will post some nice before and after pictures so you can see how it looks and hopefully that the after images looks better

I started photographing autumn 2007 with a pocketcamera and now I am working almost every single day in some way with photographing, which feels great! I like do to almost every type of photo shoots but what i seem to prefer the most is people or nature. The basic core to all this is to let me be creative and put all of my positive energy to a beautiful photo. So for me, photographing is about being creative and having fun while doing it and with happiness comes success, not vice versa.
